It is leather--at least one other reviewer thought it was denim--it is not denim. It is incredibly soft, glove leather that has been treated and colored to look like denim with a metallic weave. It is a wonderful purse and looks great with casual wear. Great B. Makowsky--as expected.

"At first the bag seems perfect because its a satchel and crossbody.
But here's the scoop; The handles are super stiff and heavy and they are constructed such that they only sit in the sockets upward. That means that if they fall outward, and they will if you dont hold them, they pull the 2 outter flap pockets open since they dont have magnets to keep them closed.
The long strap is super super long not adjustable, so if you use them, the bag dangles awkwardly with these two handles banging you into the side of your body because they dont flap open. Its a mess. You will end up futzing with the bag and for that price, not worth the effort.
B Makowsky had a good idea here, but the outcome didnt follow thru.
