I splurged and bought myself the Mariella tote in rouge - a really vibrant (but not garish) shade of red. I've had a HOBO Int'l wallet for over ten years and it's still going strong, so I came back to the brand for both looks and quality. It's a well-constructed bag, but it has a design flaw that was enough to make me send it back: the shoulder strap is only about 3/4 inch wide. While the bag doesn't seem heavy on its own, once I added my wallet, phone, journal and keys, the weight of the bag made the strap really uncomfortable. It dug into my shoulder, and I was constantly fussing with it as I walked. I used the bag for half a day and then, sadly, put it back in the box. If the handles were a tiny bit bigger I would've kept the bag, ditched the strap, and worn it tucked up under my arm. But it doesn't work that way, and I need both hands free, so back to Amazon it goes.
