My husband doesn't understand why I buy new purses and bags, and he pokes fun of me, in that wonderfully spousal way, that I am engaged in the eternal quest for the perfect bag. I haven't found the holy grail of handbags, yet, but this one comes pretty close.

I purchased the Paulina Hobo International bag in black. The leather is gorgeous and soft, and the red interior is nothing short of sexy. The bag was shallower than I had envisioned, but overall, the purse has a surprising interior capacity. I am able to tuck my Kindle in its case, for example, into one side of the purse, and it doesn't appear or feel bulky.

The interior has okay compartments. The cell phone pocket holds my smartphone just fine, and the back pockets and interior divider are useful. My only disappointment in this bag...and the only thing holding it back from fulfilling my quest...is that the purse lacks pen holders. Hobo International is a leather goods manufacturer from Maryland which makes a wide range of accessories, including sunglasses, belts, wallets, briefcases and so forth. But, the best thing that they make (in my opinion) is handbags.

The Paulina is a very nice handbag - sleek and understated - relatively small, but opens up to hold more than you would think. The handle is nice and strong, the interior fabric is brightly colored (which makes finding things in the bottom much easier!), and the zipper has two slides (which allows you to open it any way you like.

This is a very nice shoulder bag. I went with black, which I thought looked the most elegant. Its brushed nickel metalwork goes well with the color - contrasting, but brushed so as not to be too shiny. I am very pleased with this handbag, and think that I made a great purchase. Buy one!

I ordered this purse in eggplant. It arrived yesterday and it's absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous color, elegant design. I absolutely loved it. Then I started the process of transferring all my stuff from the old purse to this one and that's when I became disappointed. The inside of the bag is lovely with plenty of compartments and space for everything. Then I went to zip it up and noticed that the middle part of the zipper was all funky. It didn't hold it's shape, it became kind of rumpled in the middle and ruined the sleek lines that made this purse so elegant. I'm still deciding if I want to keep it. It really is lovely but that funky, lumpy business in the middle is disappointing.it's liked they really skimped on the zipper in an otherwise perfect purse.
