Orla Kiely Medium Tote

I actually bought this bag a couple of weeks ago and I love it! It is my second Orla bag and I really love the size of this bag. This bag is big enough to put papers or folders, even magazines in it. It's a nice size for work. I can stick my lunch in it, etc. But it's not so big that I feel awkward carrying it on other days as well. It has the elastic key clip that the other bags have, however this bag is not lined in the usual Orla Kiely fashion. It's not lined on the inside at all, just the canvas. I personally don't mind this (mostly because this bag was about fifty bucks cheaper than my other bag and I presume that it's because the lovely lining is MIA.), but some people may find that to be a deal breaker. I think the quality of the bag aside from the missing lining is what I would expect after having previously owned one (it's good). There is one pocket on the inside of this bag with a zipper.

I ordered this in jade, and immediately afterwards, was chagrined that I just spent 100 on a tote. I mean, you can buy a tote for 10!

However, when I received it, I was delighted. I have always loved Orla Kiely patterns, but the handbags seemed too wide and too... sporty, more like a diaper bag. But now I'm thinking I might want more.

The coated cotton is lovely and not at all stiff. It has a lovely matte look, but it's slightly glossy. Just a great finish. The leaves in this pattern are perfectly aligned all around the bag. The leather bits on the handles and snaps are lovely too. The cotton webbing on the handles is not sporty (which is what I expected). This is why I think I may buy more of OK bags, what looks sporty and stuffy on the screen, in person is actually quite lovely.
